Arthritis
Pain in the joints that's caused by the breaking down of the cartilage or when the joint lining becomes inflammed is called arthritis. This is one of the most serious ailments that affects people in America. Cases of arthritis have grown since 1998 from 33 million cases to 66 million cases of arthritis in 2005.
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease that causes pain, swelling, stiffness, and loss of function in the joints. It has several special features that make it different from other kinds of arthritis. For example, rheumatoid arthritis generally occurs in a symmetrical pattern, meaning that if one knee or hand is involved, the other one also is.

One of the most common types of arthritis is called osteoarthritis. The majority of people that get this are elderly. Another name for osteoarthritis is degenerative joint disease. Cartilage is the main thing affected by osteoarthritis.

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is arthritis that causes joint inflammation and stiffness for more than 6 weeks in a child of 16 years of age or less.

One of the world's most deadliest diseases is cancer. Victims of this disease usually die within months to years after contracting it. Some people overcome cancer but they usually don't live a normal life. Dieing of cancer is usually very painful and the patient are sometimes given strong narcotics to dull the pain before dieing.
